What is another way to say “for example” in an essay?

Question by Shortie: What is another way to say “for example” in an essay?

I’m writing an essay for English on Saul Bellow’s “Henderson the Rain King.” It’s an opinionated essay and I have to use examples from the book, but I’m tired of writing “for example…”

I can’t use stuff like “such as…” or “basically…” because I state a point, and then give an example from the book. Please help. :(

Thanks in advance. <3
