What should you do when the tire blows out (gets punctured) while driving?

Easy Ways to Care For Your Car

Caring for your car is not that too difficult and it makes a great help to extend and improve your car performance, maintaining its high resale value. Checking tire treads and topping oil levels are some of the things that you can do to ensure that your car remains in mint condition.

Your car cannot run even for a second if it doesn’t have its required oil in the car engine, and every time you open the bonnet, this is the first thing you should check. One of your first priorities has to top up the oil level in the engine.

The engine should be cool when you are checking the oil and should definitely not be running. The dip stick is located over the engine and it’s not too difficult to spot it. Remove it then clean it on a rag or waste cotton so that no trace of oil remains on it. There are levels marked on the dip stick which indicate whether the oil is at the required level or needs to be topped up. If you are confused, as a first time car owner, better refer to the manufacturer’s manual, which will have a clear instructions and diagrams.

Now that the dip stick is clean, push it back into the tube from where you took it out originally, and make sure that you push it to its full extent. Now retrieve the dipstick and check if the oil is at the full level mark. If it is lower than the level it should be, it is time to top up the oil. Take it to the service station or you can do it yourself if you have the oil that is recommended in the manual.

The tires are another very important part of the car which requires to be checked at all times. Check the depth of the treads in each tire and be sure that they are at least 1.6 mm in depth. This is the law in some countries like the UK and you face a stiff penalty if your tires do not conform to this standard. There are gadgets available to check the tread depth and it would be worth your while to have one of that with you.

You need to rotate your tires, especially if your car has a front wheel drive, as front tires may wear out faster. A worn out tire could lead to uneven brake application and poor handling. Always check all the car tires for any tears, or bulges, and excessive wear. Also, make sure that the spare tire you carry is also in good shape and has the proper pressure, so that you are always prepared for a likely puncture or blowout while on the road.

Your car should always be clean and you should always guarantee that during the winter months the underside of the car doesn’t have an accumulation of salt from the road, which is deleterious to your car body. Make sure that your windscreen wiper tank has always full supply of water and cleaner.

If you have a garage, you would be well advised to always park the car in it and not leave it in the driveway. Your car would be protected from the elements, and if you are keeping your car under lock and key, this could help to reduce your insurance premium. There can be a lot of more things that you can do to ensure that your car gives you longer trouble free service, but start with these few basic ones and try other tips once you are sure of these.

Your car should be the color you like.

Black cars do tend to show more dirt and blemishes, even more so than a white car, but it’s easily remedied with regular care. You don’t have to maintain it 24/7. Just wash it every week or two and take it to a pro every few months.

black does show dirt, but doesnt show minor dents as much

Darker colors DO show dirt more, but so do really light colors.

Lighter colors are safer because your car will be a little easier for people to see, and if you live someplace where the weather’s hot, a lighter colored car might not get quite as hot inside when it’s parked in the sun.

But the most important thing is what YOU think of the color. So get a color you like, and if that’s black, that’s fine.

Black or white both will show dirt. I prefer black or blue vehicles myself. Blue fades out though the soonest and black keeps pigment purdy well. Only thing is with a black car I’d get some accessories that stand out from the black to make it not look so plain jane. Any car requires a lot of cleaning though. That’s unavoidable if you want it to stay looking good.

White or light grey/silver are more efficient when it comes to air conditioning,
are easier seen at night for safety, and also show dirt less.
Face it, a car is a machine, not a fashion accessory.

Hi! The best color I can advice you is “silver” the shiny grey colors”,

Black “requires attention”, it should be waxed and dusted otherwise, it will make you look like a bum if you are driving an uncleaned black car, and attentions to cars only stays for a matter of time and not forever.
White is elegant however it has a little problem with “sun” once a white color car will be exposed much under the sun it turns yellowish.
Grey on or shiny silver on the other hand has a little gift, it does not fade from white to yellow or dusty black, it has the capacity to comauflage the dirt and dust if you are unable to clean it up.

Anyway its just my advice, I had already black, white cars, and grey once was not my idea, but when i had grey one, I find it better than any colors.

Im a truck guy. I haul a lot of stuff. I travel rugged rocky roads. My trucks take a beating. White vehicles hide dents and dings a lot better than any other color, so for practical purposes white is best for me. If you spend a lot of time in mall or grocery store parking lots white might be a good choice for you. I do have a couple of black trucks too. Those are my toys. The black trucks just look more rugged and sexy and dents and dings and torn sheet metal are like like trophies to me. The slightest little bit of dust and dirt will show on any dark color but when i come back from a day of rockcrawling and mudding who cares. Red, yellow or bright colors are just asking for law enforcement to pull you over and often make you pay higher insurance rates.

If you don’t like washing your car 2+ times per week and don’t know anything more about taking care of the paint then simply washing and waxing, black is not the color for you. Water spots, swirling, dents, etc are all more noticeable on black cars than any other color. I’m a big fan of white as I can get away with not washing it for an entire week and you wouldn’t know it’s dirty unless you go up and take a good hard look. My rims on my car are black though and they could use a good washing every day.
