I’d like to start by stating the obvious; at least it’s obvious to most Americans. Despite what the last several generations of Americans are being proselytized to believe, America was founded on Judeo-Christian beliefs. All the revisionist history in the world cannot change the facts. Christianity was, in fact, the predominant religion of the time and our Founding Fathers used the bible as a guide when writing our Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and Constitution.
There are many who spend countless hours, days, months even, to locate quotes from a handful of our founders to establish how they were, in fact, non-Christian. Those quotes, however, point more towards their lack of trust in the piousness of kings and priests, than their lack of belief in Jesus Christ as their savior. In fact, the same quotes that are bantered around, as though they were daggers to shred the belief of so many, are by the same men who confirmed their beliefs in so many other quotes. For example, the left would have you believe that John Adams was a Deist based on this quote, which was in a letter written to Thomas Jefferson, June 1815, ‘The question before the human race is, whether the God of nature shall govern the world by his own laws, or whether priests and kings shall rule it by fictitious miracles.’ Personally, I don’t read any anti-Christian oratory in this quote, but for those who do, so be it. So, now, how about another quote from our dear John Adams, ‘The general principles on which the fathers achieved Independence were … the general principles of Christianity … I will avow that I then believed, and now believe, that the general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God.’
So, what’s my point? The point is that while we, as Americans, are tolerant of any religion or religious practices (animal sacrifice and or Sharia law, aside), we are tired of the constant battery Christianity and its followers are made to endure in this country. Myself, I am tired of hearing how ‘In God We Trust’ should be removed from the face of our money or how the Pledge of Allegiance should no longer be expected or allowed in schools because the words ‘One Nation, under God’ are in it. This is completely ludicrous.
What’s even more insulting is the left has found a new ‘pet project’ to keep them busy; the alleged intolerance of the mosque/Islamic center that may be built 500 plus yards from ground zero. Thank Allah, the left can now unite for one grand, religious injustice. Oh, but they don’t stop there. No, no. They are showing full throttle support for things like state funded Muslim Imams for prisons, while blatantly opposing the Mojave Memorial War Cross. As if it weren’t bad enough that the cross was stolen to begin with, the legal battle over why it shouldn’t be allowed anyway is still in full force. And, what reasons do the left give for not wanting the cross…? You’re going to love this. According to the ACLU it violated the Constitution’s establishment clause because it equates to ‘government support of a religion’. Thus begs the question, how does spending tax payer dollars on Imams to council criminals not ‘equate’ to the same thing? It amazes me how liberals seem to only ‘find God’ when he is not The Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost…
To anyone who may be thinking I am against Muslims, you would be wrong. In fact, I feel better about a person knowing they believe in a God, any God, and that they will have to answer for their sins in the afterlife. What I have a problem with is the small minority of people and advocacy organizations that continually bash Christians and the liberal media who force their anti-religion agenda on the rest of us God fearing Americans.
I am a married mother of two boys. I am very politically minded, but I also like the lighter side of life. You can catch me playing Super Mario Galaxy 2 with my youngest son or having outer space and theology discussions with my oldest son, or we just tie a toy to a fishing rod and watch the kittens go nuts. Point being, I love spending time with my kids doing just about anything. Writing articles on topics that interest me allows me an outlet outside of the family. I hope you enjoy my article and I appreciate feedback.
Why are Americans “tired of hearing” about Obama ?
According to Yahoo! News:

WASHINGTON – Barack Obama may be the fresh face in this year’s presidential election, but nearly half say they’re already tired of hearing about him, a poll says.
With Election Day still three months away, 48 percent said they’re hearing too much about the Democratic candidate, according to a poll released Wednesday by the nonpartisan Pew Research Center. Just 26 percent said the same about his Republican rival, John McCain.
