Q&A: My car has 75,000 miles. What type of maintenance does it need?

Question by SkyRaider: My car has 75,000 miles. What type of maintenance does it need?

Saturn 2001 sedan, manual, bought new. All it has had are regular “1-point oil changes” and a couple minor repairs with belts and stuff. Had its transmission fluid replaced a year ago, tires rotated and ok. What do I have to absolutely do at this time? I think it needs some maintenance. The car kind of vibrates while it runs, and it changes rpms slightly whil idling. thanks

Yeah, get a tune-up!!! I used to have a car that had over 200,00 and a tune-up helped it alot!! Also, what kind of oil are you using? Use the Castor Oil High Mileage brand (green bottle) since your car has so many miles on it. Keep a check on your CV joints to because they might need replacing after a while. Other than that, remember to keep a check on that oil and fluids regularly because a car like that uses more oil than a car with fewer miles.
