Question by I♥Lasagna: Married men are trouble!?
Okay so I gave my number away to this man I work with. We work different departments so I didn’t know him to well. I’m not married and I haven’t dated in awhile. So two times of talking on the phone and he came on to me telling me he wants to get to know me, so I was cool with it untill he started adding that he has a daughter and a WIFE!!! wow I said ” your married”. then he went on and said he’s been married 25 years and said to me it’s no big deal and ask me “You wouldn’t buy a new car with out a spare tire” now a this time i’m making up exuses to hang up the phone. Why would a married man of 25 years say something like this? and please don’t dog me out because I’m not going to talk to this man again!!! I do not and will not start dating a married man.
Chels – Glad you got a laugh but this really happened!

Just be glad you’re not married to him. He sounds like a piece of work. If he ever makes a similar comment, tell him his wife probably feels the same way.

Car Tires (A Guide Through The Maze)
Buying new car tires has become an ordeal for the average consumer. Negotiating the maze of types, sizes, ratings, warranties, and prices has many throwing up their hands in frustration. Here are a few simple things to look for.
What size and type of tire does my car require? Placards with size, service rating, and air pressure are posted on each car. Open the driver’s door. The placard is usually placed on the edge of the door or on the body pillar. The owner’s manual will also contain this information.
When are tires “worn out”? A simple answer lies in the tread depth. Tread depth is measured from the top of the tread block to the bottom of an adjacent groove. It is measured in increments of 1/32 of an inch. Most new tires begin with a tread depth of 10/32” or 12/32”. A tread depth gauge, found in most auto parts stores, will help to determine when a tire is due for replacement. Most states require a minimum tread depth of 3/32” to 5/32”.
What is a UTQG rating? UTQG is an acronym for Uniform Tire Quality Grade. The federal government requires manufacturers to test and grade tires in areas of tread wear, traction, and temperature. Consumers need to be aware that these tests compare the tires of an individual manufacturer and is not meant as a comparison of different brands.
What is a tread wear warranty? In simple terms, the manufacturer guarantees the tire to last a certain number of miles before the tread is worn to unacceptable levels. These warranties range from zero, on some truck and off-road tires, to 80,000 miles on high-end car tires. These warranties have limits and cover only normal wear under normal conditions. They do not cover damage caused by road debris or any other “impact damage”. Mechanical wear, caused by lack of rotation, worn suspension, misalignment, or any other mechanical causes, is usually not covered. However, the tread wear warranty can be used to compare among brands. A guaranteed number of miles indicate the manufacturer’s willingness to stand behind its claims of the tire’s quality.
Armed with information, consumers are better equipped to shop for this most ubiquitous, and mysterious, of commodities. Do not be afraid to ask for a lower price. In today’s economy, tire dealers are generally willing to negotiate. As with any other purchase, caveat emptor (let the buyer beware). Be aware of what you are actually buying. Look for hidden fees. Does the price include mounting, balancing, and installation of the tires? Does it include new valve stems and disposal of the old tires? Press for the final price, including sales and excise tax before you commit to the sale.
As an informed consumer, you will smile with confidence as you safely drive America’s highways.

One of the most important things that you need to do when it comes to the tires of your car is maintenance. You just don’t drive your car and expect that you will not have problems when it comes to the tires. There will surely come a time that you may need to change your car’s tires such as when it is flat or the treading is already worn out. Here are some of the things that you may want to consider when it comes to proper maintenance of your car tires.
Perhaps one of the most obvious signs that you need to purchase a new car tire is the treading itself. Once you have noticed that the treading of the car is already worn out, that is the time that you need to change it because if you will not do so, you are actually risking not only the safety of your car but also of yourself. So if you want to ensure your safety, change your car tires if you notice that they are already worn out.
Another important thing that you need to regularly check when it comes to maintaining your car tires is the air pressure. Make sure that they have the right amount of air so that you may be able to ensure that they are in good condition and your car will be able to run smoothly since improperly inflated car tires causes a lot of problems such as increase in the fuel consumption of the car itself.

I’m sorry! I’m laughing so hard at his line – “You wouldn’t buy a new car with out a spare tire” LMAO! At that point you should’ve told him you weren’t into automotive play.
He said that because he wants a woman on the side. Good for you for respecting yourself and not buying into it!
Married men don’t get the option of dating. I think his wife needs to know and whatever place you work for. This is sexual harrassment.
your a good girl for not dating married men. I guess his marriage isnt working. Send him a get well card if he continues to bother you.
he’s obviously going through some things in his personal life. most people who have affairs are missing excitement in their life, and you would have just been a toy. good job by not pursuing this man, i feel bad for his oblivious wife and child. stay away from him altogether, who knows what other mental issues he has. its not just a spare tire, he’s towing an entire truck.
He’s a fu**ing dwag. Im strongly against affairs/cheating of any kind. I would **** him up by telling his wife.
Good for you for not buying into his drama. Consider yourself VERY lucky that he was ignorant and arrogant enough to tell you about his situation BEFORE you really got involved with him. Send him a card that says” Sorry to hear you’re sick…he’ll get the message.
You made a good choice! The only good out of the conversation I see is that he was honest enough to tell you he had a wife & daughter. Many cheaters (male & female both) try to hide those facts behind lies.
Maybe he was hoping to have a “spare tire” from a Chrysler that didn’t care that he was a Chevrolet & his wife was a Pontiac & his daughter a Buick. It does matter to you & am happy to hear you didn’t give in to his lustful desires (or to yours) & cause marital distress. Too many innocent people get hurt from others infidelity & it only makes matters worse when they know they are married & continue the relationship on false hopes that he/she will eventually love you more — enough to leave their spouse & child/children.
Good luck to you now & in the future!!! You will eventually find your true love, because you truly deserve it!!!
OMG!!!! That is crazy!!!!!!!!!! At least you are not a home wreaker and triin to break up a family!!!! I would call his wife and tell her. If it was me I would wanna know.
Beware because a lot of married men want to have a woman on the side since they will never leave their wife. If he is married- he is obviously not available and probably never will be. You will only be his mistress.
