After you have bought new car tires or used truck tires for your car or truck, make sure you maintain them properly in order to extend their useful lives. This will go far in extending your savings, too, considering that both new car tires and used truck tires are not cheap tires. These days, even retread used truck tires can cost a lot. If you find really cheap tires, they turn out to be used tires from unreliable sources that may be dangerous to use in Tampa FL.
Of course, if compared to new tires, used truck tires are still less expensive. You will, therefore, find more people opting to buy used truck tires rather than new tires. Be careful in choosing the used truck tires to buy, though. Some used truck tires can be really good buys but other used truck tires may no longer be road worthy. You should only buy retread used truck tires that are supplied by reputable dealers. Make sure they come with solid warranties, too. Never buy used truck tires that have not been retread and that are from unverified suppliers. These are most likely taken from vehicles headed for demolition and are no longer safe to use. Do your cost cutting wisely and then maintain your retread used truck tires well as you use them in Tampa FL.
Right after your tires are mounted, they should go through tire balancing. If your tires are repaired and are remounted, make sure they go through tire balancing again. If you try to drive your vehicle with unbalanced tires, you may experience vibrations or a shimmy. Once you feel any vibration or shimmy while driving, you should immediately bring your vehicle for tire balancing. Unbalanced tires wear out sooner.
Tire maintenance also includes regular wheel alignment. Car manufacturers specify the proper angles of car wheels in the vehicle’s owner’s manual. This should be followed accurately during wheel alignment to make sure that the vehicle will run straight and not pull to one side when it is driven. With proper alignment, tires get even wear with use. Unaligned tires tend to become more worn on only one edge though.
Another important part of tire maintenance is regular tire rotation. Front tires should be exchanged with rear tires to ensure uniform wear on all four tires. This is because tires used in the front of a vehicle get more worn than those used in the rear.
Proper tire inflation is also crucial. The car manufacturer specifies the proper tire inflation for front and rear tires. Each time the tires are rotated, inflation should be adjusted accordingly. The inflation of all tires should also be checked monthly because small air leaks may be present although unnoticed. Driving over-inflated or under-inflated tires can damage them. In over-inflated tires, the center gets more worn down. In under-inflated tires, on the other hand, the edges get more worn down.
Aside from tire inflation, proper tire loading should also be observed. The proper load limit for tires is specified by each manufacturer and ignoring this could lead to tire blowout.
Make sure you also drive properly so as not to damage your tires. Speeding creates high heat that is bad for rubber, bringing more wear and tear on your tires and reducing its durability. Fast starts, fast turns, skids and panic stops also harm your tires. To further protect your tires, never drive them on the edges of pavements or over curbs and potholes.
Maintain your new car tires or used truck tires properly in Tampa FL and you will surely get to enjoy them for years to come.

My car feels heavy as if tires are flat?
I pulled over too quickly on a bumpy dirt road and I could feel the bumps hitting the bottom of my car. Upon driving it after pulling back to the road, my car felt “heavy” as if you have flat tires. When I tilt my wheel when i’m driving, it seems as if the car wants to shift back to steering straight and center.
Thank you for any info anyone could provide me on what this could be. Thanks.
could the issue be with my shocks and/or struts? for driving on a bumpy road.
Answer
Were there a lot of tall weeds or mud when you pulled off of the road. There could be weeds or debris that is wedged in the inside of the tire close to the steering linkages that cushion the steering to go back in straight path.
